The nearby fishing village of North Haven is a charming place for an afternoon stroll. Visit its boat-launching ramp, especially when the anglers return to clean their fish and enjoy the delightful experience of watching large numbers of Pelicans eagerly waiting for the off-cuts.

The Pelicans have a beauty and dignity of their own and are poetry in motion to watch as they glide down, with their 2½ metre wingspans, to settle slowly on the water. It is a wonderful spectacle for anyone, particularly for children and the young-at-heart.
